Praying for a joyful and blessed Christmas - A message from Brendan

As this busy year, full of global shifts and ongoing challenges in South Africa draws to a close. We gather around the familiar Christmas story and are reminded that in a world full of change, God remains faithful and unchanging. We remember that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Heb 13:8

In a year that has held both joy and challenge, celebration and loss, we return again to the night when heaven broke into the ordinary. The angels did not appear to kings or powerful leaders, but to shepherds—ordinary people faithfully doing their work. Their message was simple and world-changing: "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy for all people."

As we look ahead to the coming year, we do so with hope in the "good news" which the angels announced. The same God who came near in Bethlehem continues to come near to us today—in our homes, our workplaces, our struggles, and our joys. 

I do want to thank our volunteers, staff, pastorate and congregants for your faithfulness, your generosity, your prayers, and your presence. Whether you served visibly or quietly, whether you felt strong or simply kept going, God has been at work among us.

May you know the peace of Christ this Christmas.
May your homes be filled with hope.
And may the love of God carry you gently into the year ahead.

1 February - 6pm - Worship Night
